A Jonas Lindvall A & D design each of the apartment is modern minimal in its style with white holding sway indoors. Light wooden tones add to this relaxing ambiance while spacious atriums bring natural light into the lounge kitchen and living area.
Spread across two different levels the house embraces modernity even while imbibing subtle traditional features that bring together the best of both worlds. A neutral color palette coupled with warm wooden surfaces shapes the interior with the kitchen dining area and the living space on the ground floor and the bedrooms occupying the top level with wonderful views of Budapest Danube and Gellérthegy.
In an attempt to keep out all that noise and pollution even while giving those inside complete privacy architects came up with a distinct wooden façade that features a curved wall along with a series of other small wall-like sections.
At this point the roof seems even more captivating as the olive groves and giant gum trees outside fill the backdrop with constantly changing sights and sounds. The living area and the open deck are gently cantilevered above the landscape with the bedrooms connected directly with the central courtyard.
The limited footprint of the constructed area coupled with a need to design a home that left as much of the forest land as untouched as possible meant Storm Architects opted for a simple stylish and elegant modern structure. With a timber frame and larch cladding that is interlaced with large glass windows and modern finishes the home seems both classic and contemporary at the same time.
It is the top level that houses the large living area which flows into the solarium and the pool deck outside. The arrangement of spaces is truly unique with emphasis being placed on a smart indoor-outdoor interplay where one complements the other. But the balance of elements does not end there with the solid concrete walls and flooring of the upper levels standing contrast to the seemingly weightless glazed ground level!
The roof seems to gently float above the structure of the house and brings with it an aura of excitement and freshness. The continuous wavy form is all you can think about until you enter into the residence and notice how the simplicity of the interior adds to its magnetic presence.
