Beyond the fabulous home theater or the spacious home studio acoustics take a backseat to visual design almost everywhere else. But the takes an entirely different approach as its exterior overall form and unique curved wooden façade is shaped by a need to keep away urban noise. Designed by BC Estudio Architects this modern residence in sits on a lot that is close to a road with high traffic.
Working around unique constraints presented by rugged landscape often brings the very best in architects and results in homes that reimagine conventional design. The irregular shape and sloped terrain of a corner lot in Bragança Paulista meant that Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados had to create an innovative home plan that overcame spatial and aesthetic hurdles.
The dashing new addition in wood and glass sits at the rear of the heritage house leaving the street façade undisturbed. Yet the old weatherboard home is seamlessly combined with the contemporary structure to create a cheerful synergy and a breezy living space that the entire family can enjoy.
At one end of the house lies the bedroom with the other end containing the social zone. It is the kitchen and dining unit along with a relaxing living area that occupy the two central units. Striking that perfect balance between gorgeous views and complete privacy smartly placed windows along with sliding glass doors open up the house towards the captivating natural scenery outside.
The entire prefab was built off-site in a factory in the capital and brought to Pueblo Eden as two individual units. Putting it all together did not take much time at all. Saving cost resources and making construction of homes a lot easier in remote locations the creative prefab does not compromise on aesthetics whatsoever. Its beautiful wooden exterior and timber interior feels both modern and inviting even as the stone walls it sits on minimize environmental impact.
Home to a series of seven different modern apartments each slightly different from the other and offering something unique in Sweden is made up of two different buildings and a fabulous common courtyard. Blending in with the classic aesthetic of the calm neighborhood the street-facing building of L1 consists of five different split-level apartments while the second building houses two lovely three-story homes. All the individual units seem to flow into the courtyard even while enjoying a view of the large pool and deck – a perfect place for social interaction.
The entire house is divided into four different layered units with each layer having a thickness and finishing texture of its own. Since the home was crafted to meet the needs of an elderly couple all the units are at the same level and transition between one section to the next is seamless.
