Home to a series of seven different modern apartments each slightly different from the other and offering something unique in Sweden is made up of two different buildings and a fabulous common courtyard. Blending in with the classic aesthetic of the calm neighborhood the street-facing building of L1 consists of five different split-level apartments while the second building houses two lovely three-story homes. All the individual units seem to flow into the courtyard even while enjoying a view of the large pool and deck – a perfect place for social interaction.
It is the lower level that contains the open plan living area in white while the top floor houses the relaxing bedrooms and contemporary bathrooms finished in marble. Promising a holiday that is tranquil and filled with nature’s goodness Woodpeckers transports you into a refreshing rural landscape.
Despite being constrained by the narrowness of the lot Sam Crawford Architects managed to etch out a cheerful and seemingly spacious modern home by tapping into the vertical room on offer. Original industrial elements of the home were kept intact and enhance while the street façade was left untouched because of the heritage rules. Exposed brick walls define the living area even as dark steel elements industrial-style windows and wooden ceiling beams are intertwined with comfortable modern décor and polished finishes.
