A large courtyard and pool area finds space amidst the three separate wings with each area visually flowing into the scenic landscape outside. Much like the form of the house its dark gray zinc cladding also sets it apart from many other residences in the region.
Each of these wooden behemoths helps in creating a stylish serene and secluded urban sanctuary even as an additional green wall adds to the overall ambiance. On the others side of the house one finds an inviting garden that becomes part of the open plan living area with kitchen and dining.
Beyond the fabulous home theater or the spacious home studio acoustics take a backseat to visual design almost everywhere else. But the takes an entirely different approach as its exterior overall form and unique curved wooden façade is shaped by a need to keep away urban noise. Designed by BC Estudio Architects this modern residence in sits on a lot that is close to a road with high traffic.
Combining a variety of textures that range from steel and tile to stone and wood contrasting elements are combined effortlessly even while keeping the neutral color palette intact. A large breakfast bar adds to the appeal of the ergonomic kitchen island even as smart shelving and hidden storage units shape a flexible functional and cheerful kitchen that becomes the star of the altered home.
The entire house is divided into four different layered units with each layer having a thickness and finishing texture of its own. Since the home was crafted to meet the needs of an elderly couple all the units are at the same level and transition between one section to the next is seamless.
The striking image of a classic pitched roof combined with refined contemporary design and doubled just to make sure that it all looks even more spectacular – the dashing set on a hilltop North-East of is indeed a masterpiece!
In an attempt to keep out all that noise and pollution even while giving those inside complete privacy architects came up with a distinct wooden façade that features a curved wall along with a series of other small wall-like sections.
